Strange Circus Film Review

TRANGE CIRCUS

                                                                     Strange Circus
Strange circus is a very odd and disturbing movie. The synopsis of this film is the erotic novelist Taeko is writing a morbid story of a family destroyed by incest, murder and abuse. Her assistant, Yuji, sets on a mission to uncover the reality of this story, but the reality might be too much to bear. Thats is basically the main plot without any spoilers of any kind. Because if I were to spoil the movie it would be a shame because this is a fantastic movie and deserves to be seen. I really love this movie, it's very dark but also is filmed in a beautiful way which makes it very unsettling. The acting is very good and the plot is interesting and keeps you really intrigued the whole movie. This movie is very sad and depressing, it deals with allot of abuse and the horrors it can cause on someones life.
Which makes it a really effective and disturbing film.
The films pacing is very slow but the ending really pays up for the slow build. It was a very unexpected ending and was very shocking and gruesome. I thought that the characters were really good in the movie. The scummy father, the abusive mother and the innocent daughter were all portrayed very well in this movie. Another thing that was very cool about the movie was it's scenery the scenery was very cool and creepy especially in where Taeko writes her story and is talking to the publishers. I really enjoyed this movie and thing that it is well worth your time if you have yet to see it. I think it's a well made movie, and deserves my score of an 8/10 it's and amazing movie just a little slow in the build and a rather unsettling tale.

This page is dedicated to my fellow horror movie fans.
When I was around eight years old I started going to a blockbuster near my house. I soon began to wander from my family into the darkness of the horror section. I was fascinated by the blood soaked covers and cool titles. I was obsessed. But I was around eight so I could only look. I used to sneak The Texas Chainsaw Massacre films at night, which used to play on t.v. I would go in my dirty basement and go to my mom's twenty year old t.v and watch the delight of the amazing horror films. These included Nightmare on elm street, Halloween, May, Cabin fever, Hostel, Motel hell, Saw,and the Texas chainsaw massacre films. Skip around  three years was when my dad used to let me use my family's video camera. I suddenly began to make short films on them. The first one was a bloody classic I made about a serial killer, but sadly I deleted the footage out of sheer embarrassment. So I kept treading on making almost a short a day. Until the day my mother began to complain about the fake blood all over the house. So I stayed in for a year. And still had hope to make movies. The year I gave up short film making. I delved into independent horror. With Troma, and gore classics or amazing schlock films I was hypnotized. I began to study such filmmakers as Lloyd Kaufman, Fred Vogel, Marcus Koch,Astron 6 and so many others. So fast forward two years and hear I am now.
